Big CATS! July 21-25, 2008
Cat and Mouse Week: Big Cat's little Ears
Big CATS!: What does the biggest predator, the king of the forest, the Savannah and the jungle have in common with the smallest of small creatures? This week answers that mystery.
This week we explore the life of all the cats! Both big and small. We also learn tracking from the "mice", because when you start to see mice tracks you see all tracks! Games of stealth teach us about how cougars and other cats hunt through the woods.
Meet, Nicole Apelian, Trackers International's Lead Adventurer and real LIFE lion researcher as she tells us stories of living in the African Bush. She may even teach us how to do lion and leopard CALLS!
EVERY camper visits the Oregon Zoo to learn about BIG cats, while we (the campers and instructors) also create a neighborhood campaign to educate people about how to PROTECT local song birds from domestic cats (while still keeping domestics cats happy:) All this, plus a visit from a BASKET of KITTENS!
