A TrackersPDX Camp for Everyone

Real learning is an immersive experience. Children learn when we involve all five of their senses while what they experience becomes part of a greater story. In our Folklore Immersion Nature Camps we use imagination, play, riddles and adventure to create real world experiences for children in a safe and supportive atmosphere. Each week they discover a relationship to nature through the story of that particular animal. For example, during Deer Week, the camp becomes all about deer. All our activity is centered on the lives of two actual deer we follow and trail. Like anything in animal tracking, the lives and experience of one animal is connected to many other facets of nature. Knowing that deer cross the Willamette River means we take a boat trip to investigate where. Understanding how deer bound and jump is in our SHIFT: Movement and Martial Arts bundle. We develop real relationships with the natural world. Children learn about nature while they are also gain confidence and competence. All our camps are based TrackersTEAMS philosophy, core routines of team building and leadership that help students co-create a very supportive and safe environment under the expert guidance of TrackersNW staff.

Camps Time frames

Base Camp Programs In Portland, these camps are usually based out of North Clackamas Parks and Recreation’s Aquatic Park Center. Woo Woo Hollow Wetland, a beautiful 89 acres adjacent to the center is ours to explore. In Bend, these camps are based out Bend Parks and Recreations Harmon Park.

Mobile Camp Programs These camps are day classes where we discover the wonders of the Willamette Valley and Oregon’s natural landscapes. We travel seek out the natural landscapes that can only be found by hitting the road. Everyday we return home to our Base Camp ready with stories of adventure and fun.

Overnight Camp Programs Overnight Camp Programs are the next step into adventure. We spend our days exploring the lands we visit and our nights around the campfire sharing stories and making new friends. At TrackersNW we consider our Overnight Camp Programs rites of passage that safely initiate students into the world around them.
