A tracker is a shapeshifter. We are animals. Fit, health and wellness is a deer, is a bear, is us.
SHIFT is the willingsness to move. The body experience taking to the a bio-regional movement art.
The food we eat, the trails we walk, the fates we live with make us hunter-gatherers. People sewn into their place by how their bodies move from their hearts. In this culture we often ascribe an inability to surmount challenges in our lives to a lack of willpower, or skill, or other such abstract factors, yet often we can find their source in our lack of health and wellness. Mental focus, a positive mental attitude, and a joy in your physical body comes to you as you deeply reflect and act on your own unique nutritional needs, and physical expression.

The Nature of YogaThrough the yoga of awareness, and the ancient art of tracking we can become stronger physically and mentally. We make conscious effort to rediscover our connection to the land we thrive in. Each day begins with a dynamic practice of yoga and continues with a journey through Portland’s Greenspaces. Animal tracking is our non-invasive way to explore and connect with the freedom and vitality we share with the life around us. Practice deer walking to move quietly through dry twigs and leaves. Use owl vision to broaden your awareness. Practice secret spot meditation to become receptive to what your specific neighborhood has to tell and show you. Who 16-ADULT

SHIFT: Martial Arts & WellnessUsing such resources as the bio regional martial and movement art SHIFT, you learn from world-class instructors on how to let your primal self out and truly express a wild and hyper competent body awareness. A core focus is practical training for Body Control including muscle attunement, consciously shifting internal temperature and accelerated healing. SHIFT: Indoor to Outdoor Fitness Our two instrcutors, Mike Owen and Willem Larsen bring in an exciting blend of Filipino Kali stick fighting, Taoist Standing Exercise and good ol' fashion American Boxing. Different than Martial Arts dojos, where training can be stern, our martial arts classes are welcoming, fun and friendly to all levels while also being one of the most intensive and effective fitness & training regimens around.
